'The Naughty Bus' is finally found!

Mrs Holt’s class have been learning all about the adventures of the ‘Naughty Bus’ by Jan and Jerry Oke and it’s fair to say that he has caused them mayhem over the past few weeks, leaving red tyre tracks on their playground before mysteriously disappearing! The crime had to be investigated by the children and so the staff at ‘Arriva’ Bus Depot in Beechwood were contacted, to see if they knew where it had gone!

With the help of ‘Driver of the Year Award’ winner Neil and Operations Manager Martin, the young detectives were picked up from a bus stop close to school and taken on an exciting ride around Runcorn in search of the mischievous bus. Waving to bemused passers-by, the children had the ride of their life!

On reaching the depot the bus took them through the car wash and on to meet the mechanics to see if they could help solve the mystery for them – and they certainly did! The mechanics had found their bus, repaired him and were able to return him safely to the children.

After receiving goodie bags and each having their picture taken in the driver’s seat the youngsters were issued with tickets for the return journey to school after a most exciting adventure.

Mrs Holt said, “I want to thank Martin Turner at ‘Arriva’ for arranging our visit and making this possible. We’re also really grateful to Neil, not only for his wonderful driving skills, but also the enthusiasm with which he joined in with the role play when he visited the class at school. The children have enjoyed their visit so much and were thrilled that their bus was returned safe and sound.”
